Everyone likes an Underdog

Catching Fire Dreamcast: Johanna Mason

I’d be okay with any of these lovely actresses taking on the role. Very talented and could pull it off. I don’t feel like sticking to one person anymore.

Catching Fire Dreamcast: My personal choices for Finnick Odair. I can never pick between these 4. I wouldn’t mind if any of these 4 got it. (I think I mostly like the first two though)

I present you the King and Queen of the Derp: King Logan and Queen Jen.

A personal rave about why I love Seneca Crane (with or without the beard).

Obviously I love the character Seneca Crane. He is my url for goodness sake. I have to admit the film and portrayal made me look at him a bit more than I did on my first initial read. But since I reevaluated  him post-reading of Mockingjay; he became my absolute favourite secondary character of the series.

So WHY is he my favourite secondary character? I don’t know if I completely crafted this story in my head or not. But I am an English literature major and it is my job to read between the lines, no matter how thin those lines might be. To me Seneca Crane is the unsung hero of the series. If it wasn’t for him the Everlark ship would never have sailed, Peeta would have died in that arena. He may have revoked the rule because they made him, but because of him the rule was instated that two victors could be in the first place. Without him, rebellion would never have been fully sparked. In my mind Seneca Crane wanted a rebellion, he saw in the actions of Katniss Everdeen during her time at the capitol that it was time. He gave her an 11 to ensure her sponsors, because he saw her rebellious ‘tude. He didn’t kill her in the arena after her countless rebellious actions, like he could have. I also think he had a soft spot for Everlark and their love. He died for all this. For the rebellion to start, for both Katniss and Peeta to live. I honestly have always thought this about him, and it is exactly why he is my favourite secondary characters, because he believed in the rebellion (in my eyes at least), and he is the father of the Everlark ship. Bless Seneca Crane, and may he R.I.P.

I am absolutely excited to see Wes’ portrayal of Seneca, I’ve heard so many good things, and maybe I’m just a hair right. If you’ve seen the film and I’m totally wrong, leave me be with my headcanon’s because to me he will always be the Unsung Hero of the series.

"I took away that, over time, we’re just becoming so desensitized to death. Humanity is becoming dulled to itself. We can watch people die on TV; we can watch a snowboarder fall off a mountain and die. We watch it as entertainment. The world is obsessed with reality television, and in a world where history repeats itself, it’s plausible, really, that our world could get there."  - Jennifer Lawrence, on what The Hunger Games says about Humanity. “Go on just say it, you need me like a bad habit.”

"When you are acting with her, when you look into her eyes, you see that she is being that character. There is no lying."  - Josh Hutcherson, on acting with Jennifer Lawrence. (x)
